Welcome to the K Blog

What to expect from the K Blog.

Why a Blog?

Including a blog on khpierce.com is a way for anyone, not just clients or potential clients, to learn more about branding on their own time and without the hassle of having to cold contact someone for more information just to get started.  Obviously, the very best branding comes with some outside help as intentional personal branding can be too subjective and people miss opportunities.  But more so, branding strategists have access to tools that allow us to canvas your contacts in ways they can be assured to stay anonymous and therefore can give their “true” answers as to how they see you.  Having said that, not everyone is in a position to seek help at any given time but EVERYONE is capable of DIYing some personal branding work.

What else?

On the K blog, not only will I share insights into personal branding but also tips and tricks to managing your time, business, life.  Let’s face it, who has time to devote to personal branding if everyday life and stress is almost more than we can manage? I know I’ve faced this dilemma time and time again. It’s all related.  We show the best of us when we have lower stress and are not surrounded by chaos.  We inspire confidence around us when we aren’t harried. We look successful if we have a moment to pay attention to our appearance and our conversation. We demand attention when we have time to pay attention. So, don’t be surprised to find a little of my “real” up on the blog too because it’s all part of life and in some little way it may help some of you relate.

A few facts about Kristine:

To get to know a little more of my “real”, I thought I’d share a few facts about me that may resonate with some of you – or at the very least give you an idea of who I am and what I can do:

  1. I’m an overachiever and I have to actively take a breath and allow “less than perfect” to be acceptable sometimes.
  2. I passed both my driver’s test and my bar exam on the first attempt.
  3. I play the drums and the piano (or, I used to….not sure how good I am now) and I can’t live without music.
  4. I’m one of the only people I know who really dislikes pizza and in order to get it down I have to dab it to remove all the grease and most of the red sauce.
  5. I’ve lived in: Minnesota; Washington, DC; Brussels, Belgium; Lyons, France and for a short time with a family in Paris, France.
  6. No matter how many times I play or practice or how hard I try, I will never be good at golf.
  7. I talk too much.
  8. I’m an ESFP (mostly) though I take issue with the “E” as I feel I’m more introverted than not.
  9. I can get lost in a good book and happily while away all hours just reading – if I could get away with it.
  10. I’d rather eat vegetables than fruit.
  11. I’ve survived cancer.
  12. I wanted to be a diplomat.
  13. I was so poor during my college years that my roommate and I rifled through couch cushions just to find some extra change to get through until the next paycheck.
  14. I wish I could give up Diet Coke – it’s even the caffeine free kind – but I have to have one each night.
  15. I like to learn through experience so I can understand, not just know, how things are done.

There you have it.  Fifteen fast facts about me to welcome you to my blog and give you some insights into who I am.  Besides the above, I’m a wife, mother, sister, daughter, volunteer and lawyer.  I’m also a “solopreneur” and I’m neck deep learning all I can about being one. I’m just like you and not like you.  I’m no one exceptional but I’m definitely my own person made up of many, many different layers formed through experience.   As we like to say in personal branding, everyone is unique in some way and it’s that uniqueness that differentiates us from others.
